What's on your mind when you hear the word "burnt" food? Food that isn't supposed to be served? Over-processed food? Or perhaps food that shouldn't exist at all? Usually, someone wouldn't eat "burnt" food especially if they don't have a clue on what's the food gonna be. With that being said, there are indeed some kind of foods that supposed to be served burnt. Yes, you heard it right, I kid you not. One particular food that comes in mind is a food called cheesecake. Have heard of it?

Cheesecake is one of food that can be served and prepared in many ways, and this time around, I'll be discussing about burnt cheesecake, in which the top part of it is intentionally made to be burnt. As absurd as it sounds, this is the main selling point of this food.

One of burnt cheesecake I had a pleasure to indulge is burnt cheesecake from Oh Dear Donkey. There's not much fuzz around this restaurant, apart of it being a new restaurant around these parts. Oh Dear Donkey was opened at the end of 2025, and this restaurant has many variety of menu, starting from burger, toast, frappe, smoothies, and many more. One of the best-seller from this restaurant is none other than their very own burnt cheesecake.

Their burnt cheesecake has a very appetating presentation that'll melt your heart and eyes upon you took a single quick glance on it. With sprinkles of dry pistachios as the topping, this burnt cheesecake would make you fly away to the cloud nine once you took a single bite of it. The texture is so creamy, and the aroma of the specialized burnt part is so captivating, in a good way.

Apart from the cheesecake, I also tried their frappe cookies and cream that complimented the taste of the burnt cheesecake I ordered with. This frappe has distinct taste, with signature aroma of frappe that usually can be found on other high-end restaurants. With whipped cream and sprinkled cookies as the topping, your mouth would thank your for treating them with such marvelous frappe once you took a single sip.

Overall, this food combination is something that you should try atleast once in your lifetime. You won't regret it, if anything, your tastebud would thank you for introducing it with such unique taste and it won't hesitate to add them on the high pedestals among other tastes you've ever tasted before. So, what are you waiting for? Go order one from Oh Dear Donkey right at this moment before you miss out the fun!
